Intensive brevet / bac preparation

“Learning to learn to succeed”: 10 hours to build strategies, confidence and performance before the exams.

This 10-hour workshop is organised in several sessions (5 × 2h or 4 × 2h30). It relies on a metacognitive approach that helps students become aware of their own cognitive processes, understand how they learn, adjust their strategies to each exam and take charge of their success.

“The goal is not only to “revise”, but to know how to revise effectively.”

The three pillars

  1. 1

    Metacognition (the core)

    Question: how do I learn? Observe: what works for me? Adjust: what should I change?

  2. 2

    Orthopedagogy

    Adapting content to different cognitive profiles, remediating difficulties, individual strategies.

  3. 3

    Mental preparation

    Managing stress, self-confidence, lasting motivation.

Session by session

  1. 1

    Session 1 — Knowing yourself as a learner (2h)

    Guided self-assessment, spotting spontaneous strategies, “how do I learn?”, starting a metacognitive journal.

  2. 2

    Session 2 — Organising work effectively (2h)

    Analysing ineffective habits, trying short 25-minute work sessions, reflecting on what helps and what hinders.

  3. 3

    Session 3 — Memorising effectively (2h)

    Testing methods (mind maps, active recall…), comparing results, choosing a personal strategy.

  4. 4

    Session 4 — Confidence and motivation (2h)

    How thoughts affect performance: automatic thoughts, self-observation (when do I doubt? how do I react?).

  5. 5

    Session 5 — Getting ready for the exams (2h)

    Mock exam, structured debrief, building a personal action plan.

By the end, students…

  • know how to learn effectively;
  • can self-correct and have a reflective attitude;
  • are more confident and autonomous;
  • have practical tools they can use in every subject.
